Magnesia carbon bricks are made of fused magnesia, high-purity magnesia and graphite, and are formed by high pressure molding and low temperature treatment. Different grades of magnesia carbon bricks can be selected according to different smelting conditions , service life in heats and smelting steel grades.
As a kind of composite refractory material, magnesia-carbon brick makes good use of the strong slag erosion resistance of magnesia and the high thermal conductivity and low expansion of carbon, and compensates the biggest shortcoming of the poor spalling resistance of magnesia.
